The Helen Foundation was launched in early 2006 as a living memorial to Helen Kirk, a Shaldon girl and a former Carnival Queen, who tragically died after a road accident on Boxing Day, 2005.
The charity supports the experiences and aspirations of young people aged 7-19 in the arts throughout Teignbridge. THF provides funds for schools to run arts-based workshops led by professional artists - musicians, dancers, sculptors, print-makers etc. Schools can also offer The Helen Foundation Award for the young person showing “best endeavour in the arts”.
